The Oquirrh Mountains rise along the western side of the Salt Lake Valley and form the foundation
of every sunset I see on a day to day basis. They are old mountains, more rounded and weathered
than the craggy Wasatch peaks to the east. Some of our sunsets are fiery and vibrant but my
favorites are the dusky purpley-pink ones that fade right into the gentle swells of these old hills.

Oquirrh Sunset is a rectangular wrap designed to invoke these images. It’s knit from either end
into the center where it’s grafted together. It features gentle feather and fan lace, garter stitch,
and eyelets combined with three low contrast colors for a delicate pattern. The easy i-cord edges
give it a polished finish you’ll love. Grab three skeins from your stash or pick up these lovely
colorways from Yarnaceous Fibers.

Yarn: 3 skeins fingering weight yarn in three colors. Shown in Yarnaceous Fibers Salta
Fingering - 100g and 437 yards. Main Color - MC (multi) Great Salt Lake, Contrast Color 1 -
CC1 (pink) Morganite, Contrast Color 2 - CC2 (purple) Fog. I used all but 5 grams of each of
the CCs and all but 10 grams of the MC. If you alter gauge or substitute yarns, you may
want to consider having an extra skein of each color.
